Sierra Fría
 
Located at the northwest of the state, forming part of the villages of San José de Gracia, Calvillo, Rincón de Romos, Jesús María and Pabellón de Arteaga; it covers an extension of 112,090 hectares of mountains and woods crossed by the scenic road La Congoja - El Temascal, with its peculiar species of pine, oak, cedar, strawberry tree, ash tree, among others. There is located the “Cerro de la Ardilla”, (Squirrel mount), the one with the highest elevation over the sea level with 3,050 meters. The dominant fauna is: white tailed deer, puma, wild boar, lynx, cacomixtle, grey fox, royal eagle, peregrine falcon, moctezuma quail and chameleon. The activities that can be realized are: camping, excursions, walking on guided paths, flora and fauna observation, mountain bike, fishing (with the required permit).

To get to the Sierra Fria, you can take the road 45 Aguascalientes – Zacatecas, take the direction of San Jose de Gracia, and take the deviation to San Antonio de los Rios and la Congoja. Another option is the federal road 70 Aguascalientes – Calvillo, and the deviation to the community “la Labor”.
